Kelly Clarkson made a comeback late last year with her new record Stronger, and the lead single Mr. Know It All was a right choice to help her gain the momentum after a two year of absence in the music scene. When I first heard this song, I instantly fell in love with it. Kelly sure knows how to deliver a great catchy song. Kelly states that this one talks about ignorant people who think they know everything about someone. She delivers the lyrics on the sassy tune unlike her classic hits which shows her feisty side. The music video is also a decent one; a simple video showing Kelly’s classiness and beauty all throughout. Mr. Know It All is a great start for her new era, I hope the follow-up singles will also make a big impact in the radios and charts ‘cause I do believe this record is a consistent one. Let’s wait and see for this year what will happen.

Having been almost everywhere last year is rapper and producer Pitbull with his own smash hit Give Me Everything. I usually like the songs where he is being featured but I never taught he could provide us with his own smash hit that will be remembered for the year 2011. What better ways to do so is adding collaboration from Ne-Yo and Nayer and production from DJ Afrojack. Ne-Yo provides that infectious chorus, Nayer assisted with the sexy background vocals while the main star still belongs to Pitbull nailing down the verses of the song. I have to admit, Give Me Everything grow on me after some time. It was so everywhere in the radios and this led to becoming one of the summer songs of the year. It also managed to peak at #1 for a week making it Pitbull’s first #1 song in the US. Pitbull has surely become popular especially last year, and I hope he can still provide us with catchy features and singles that are irresistible to dance.

Last for this set is the self-empowerment anthem by Selena Gomez for Who Says. Selena managed to improve the quality of her music each time she releases a new record. A Year Without Rain era has good songs which I really enjoyed and now with When The Sun Goes Down, she has established herself as one of the young female acts to look out for. The lead single Who Says caught my attention easily, it such a simple sweet tune talking about self insecurities. Selena shows her sincerity and comfort singing that we should believe in ourselves and not letting others to put you down. This is a suitable song to listen to whenever you are feeling down or being judged by others. I have come to like Selena Gomez over the years, and now the question is; can she still make it big or outdo herself in the future? We’ll just see about that.
