She knew exactly what songs to pick and left her popular ones alone. This is a smart catfisher, if she didn't run her mouth about Ariana and Drake she wouldn't have been exposed.

I'm guessing that she got the interviews simply by seeming extremely legit and being really convincing. Her previous persona, Erica, also got some big outlets to write about her. I think she's just REALLY good at catfishing. Though I'm still kind of baffled that Complex was duped, they always seemed pretty credible to me.

Or maybe whoever the catfish is irl has really good connections with news media? But tbh I can't imagine anyone with any significant amount of friends pulling some **** like this.
