Britney Spears concert review: Love for Britney in Adelaide
WHILE neigbouring states complained about Britney Spears’ lip syncing,
it seems Adelaide had nothing but love for the American pop princess.
The Hit Me Baby One More Time star mimed but she still put on a great show at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Sunday, November 29.
The adoring crowd went crazy as an athletic and smiling Spears descended from the roof in a ring leader outfit to perform Circus.
The stage comprised of three circles and Spears utilised the space ensuring fans at all ends did not miss out.
Her dancing may not be at the level it was at the height of her career in early 2000 but the girl can move.
``What’s up Adelaide?’’ Spears asked the screaming crowd.
``How you feelin’?’’
For the one song she sang live she told the crowd she was ``gonna slow things down with a ballad called Everytime’’.
But that’s about it in terms of her interaction with the crowd and she did leave the stage a fair bit for costume changes.
At least in Adelaide she added a final farewell for her loyal fans.
``Thank you so much Adelaide,’’ a smiling Spears told the audience as she left the stage.
``Thank you ladies and gentlemen.’’
What concert goers thought on the night
Sarah Overduin, 21, O’Halloran Hill ``Amazing. Loved it. The dancers were incredible. I didn’t care about the miming ... her dancing was so good that it didn’t matter. I didn’t see anyone
walk out.’’
Aaron Collis, 23, Oakden ``It was amazing. I went to one of her Melbourne shows and there was much more energy in Adelaide. She said a quick ``what’s up Melbourne’’ but that was it. Here she yelled ‘’get out of your seats’’ during Do Something, which she didn’t do in Melbourne.’’
Caitlin Davidson, 12, Whyalla ``Brilliant. I don’t care that she was lip syncing because she was focusing on the dancing and she needed all her energy for that.’’
Pamela Cook, 28, Darlington ``Who cares about the miming because it was all about the performance. Slave 4 U was my favourite.’’
Nathan Menzies, 28, Everard Park ``I was here for moral support but now after seeing it, I would’ve come anyway. I like the fact that it was more than just about the music. The show was unbelievable.’’
Abby Feltrin, 21, Kidman Park ``I loved it. I expected the miming. Her dancing was really good, she put on a good show.’’
Megan Langsford, 23, Ingle Farm ``I loved it. I liked that she used the stage. The dancers were really good.’’
Phan Nguyen, 25, Burton ``I thought it was great. It was exciting, it was awesome, she gave a good performance. I don’t care about lip syncing, it’s still the same, music is music. No one walked out. People in front of me were full on dancing. Definitely money well spent.’’
Charlotte Kemp, 15, Glenelg ``I thought it was really good. The dancers were amazing. She’s very entertaining and I like all the costumes and acrobats. I was expecting the lip syncing so I didn’t really mind, it was still entertaining.’’
