Like questions that needed answering earlier in the manga is kinda being answered now so it's like a "Ohhhhh that's why!!" kinda moment. His fanservice actually makes the storyline look bad tbh So i can see why people may hate FT. Remove the fan service and erza and you have a pretty good story.
Mai Ball! Vol. 1 This is lewd. The soccer playing is actually pretty engaging, but I'm already overwhelmed at this fanservice.

Fanservice is sometimes just too uncomfortable to watch, and like Ichiharu said, if it becomes the main focus (like in FT) it definitely affects how I view the anime as a whole.
Fan service used as comedy (like a guy accidentmy grabbing a girls breast) is the absolute pits
I agrih with Ichinaru and Gagamon. Most fanservice in anime is gross, specifically because a good 80% of anime have high school or younger-aged kids as protagonists. Sometimes it gets to a point where I need to just hit pause because it's too much. It's possible to do fanservice in a unique, classy, and entertaining way (Monogatari), but most anime go for the LCD-type trash and it's just a chore to watch.
I feel like I've slowly become desensitized to fanservice in anime, I usually have no reaction anymore unless it's so extreme and blatant. It's when it takes over a show when I get mad or grossed out. A perfect example is Prisma Illya. The first season is a decent mahou-shoujo. The fanservice moments were gross ofc, but the show was otherwise consistently funny and had good action, so I was glad I picked it up. (Although I know better than to recommend the show to a newcomer to anime.) However, when the second and third seasons ramped up the fanservice and brought it to the forefront, the show immediately went downhill and became truly uncomfortable to watch. And when the script started to fall apart, there was nothing to really save this show from turning into a mess.
