I'm so heartbroken that the Whitney performance got cancelled. Christina worked too hard for this, she doesn't deserve this mess.

I'm still in disbelief.
The only thing that keeps me from having my first ever ATRL meltdown over this is that the hologram was indeed kind of bad, so maybe the performance would have received a lukewarm reception anyway
But Christina did EVERYTHING right, she does NOT deserve this.

They just now realized that the hologram looked nothing like Whitney?

*sigh*
I hope X will at least sing I Have Nothing on The Voice finale without Whitney. Same performance, no hologram.

THIS IS WHAT PISSES ME OFF
You get one of the biggest American networks to get one of their biggest stars to help you launch this hologram on their biggest show. You let them spend time, energy and money to rehearse, you let them go through with it, you let them announce it and THEN you suddenly decide the hologram isn't good enough?

Is it possible that this could have been leaked on purpose to gauge the reaction of the audience before deciding to air it? I mean, that HD footage is kind of suspect. This just seems so messy.

fighters are already cursed before the new era arrived, not a good way to start a new era, #thestruggle

I actually thought of that too, but the announcement came way too soon after the leak came out and it hadn't even circulated that much. I don't even know at this point

I doubt the performance had anything to do with the era. I don't think RCA were counting on it or anything. It was probably a random, unexpected opportunity that Christina / her manager / NBC / all of the above seized.

1) The performance was well done, imo. The hologram did look nothing like Whitney, of course, but they never quite get the faces right on these hologram performances thus far.
2) Christina's voice sounded beautiful; her best live vocals in a very long time. I am sad most people won't get to see them.
3) It is a bit hypocritical that Whitney's family sought out & partnered with Hologram USA on this, in hopes of developing a Whitney hologram tour, asked NBC and Christina to do this - and now they're crying foul. However, they are Whitney's family and they have the right to make this decision so I will respect it.
4) Cheer up, Fighters. At the very least -- we got to see the performance instead of it being canned and we never been able to see it. Tho, had it not leaked, maybe her family wouldn't have yanked the performance.

... so can we post the HQ link on social media now, or is that still a no-no? I was withholding putting it on Facebook until it aired, but since it's canceled....

I know, but right now, we have nothing, there is no reason for stanning for her right now, u know, were looking forward to this performance and it was cancelled, we have nothing for freaking 4 years...it's was frustrating. We are just talking about her looks on the voice w/c is meh..
But Legend X voice is phenomenal on "I Have Nothing" Her best since You Lost Me on Idol

To be honest, even just talking about her looks on The Voice and her back catalogue gives me more excitement than witnessing the actual eras of other popstars. She's just superior in my eyes, so I stan at all times.
I'm just upset cause this is turning into another would've should've could've situtation and we've had enough of those since 2008. I just feel like this is the billionth time I've seen her get screwed over. I'll get over it and so will she

I'm pissed. 70% of her performances get cancelled and it's beyond frustrating.

I'm completely fine with this. We've saw the performance and know that Christina killed it, which is all that matters! If they'd canceled the performance because Christina had served messy vocals, it'd be a different matter. She did a great job!
I hope the Whitney hologram NEVER sees the light of day, though. It was downright insulting to see a complete stranger in Whitney's place.

I agree. The reaction I'm seeing from people on social media is mostly focusing on how the hologram looks NOTHING like Whitney. If this were to air, this type of negative feedback would expand exponentially and bring Christina down. Her amazing vocals just can't compete with the fact that the hologram was just poorly done. It's distracting and some probably wouldn't even notice X's vocals due to the messy hologram.
It would be nice, tho, if the Voice retooled and did just a tribute. But NBC would probably rather just sweep this under the rug now.

**** Pat Houston with a sick dick tbh. I hate that hoe.
This trick said "after closely viewing" Bitch you was in the ****ing audience. You knew that **** didn't look like Whitney. What she meant to say was after social media dragged her ass by that nappy ass wig she had a chance of heart.
I'm so ****ing pissed right now. They should have just had Christina do a tribute to Whitney without the ****ing hologram from the get go so that the performance could still air Tuesday.
Let me try to calm my nerves for real.

The backlash would've been overwhelming. Christina doesn't need to be attached to the mess that would've ensued after this performance aired! I actually think it's been cancelled since yesterday and that's why it's leaked today. We're lucky to have even seen it in retrospect.
Yeah I wish it were a tribute from the very beginning, at least the housewives would've been massacred by X's vocals.
BUT, Christina will be performing with Allison so that's something to look forward to!
