1. People criticizing Katy are not necessarily jealous haters. What about those like me, who stan for nobody and just pick and choose songs that I like? I criticized Katy's latest tactic at getting the #1. Am I jealous? Jealous of what? I have no favorite. Yes, she is successful now, but the fact that you're implying that she's more successful than "all your favorites" is highly subjective. Is being more successful all about the #1s? Or leaving impact on your fans? Or having the highest salary? Different artists have had different successes. I'd argue that Rihanna is having an equally successful era as well.
2. When will you understand that she would NOT be breaking MJ's record, she'd be TYING it.
3. Why should these people stop their opinion? What gives you the right to limit what other people think about Katy Perry? Lots of people have made very legitimate criticisms of the marketing tactic for this single. You cannot tell people to stop their opinion just because you don't like it. If it's truly giving you a meltdown, like you are having now, then perhaps this isn't the board for you. Believe me, other stan bases (the Monsters) have their favorite dragged BEYOND what you see here.
