Michael Jackson was desperate for his sales and status at his time too.... According to interviews with Rolling Stone of the 80-90's he made huge money deals with Pepsi, he told MTV to announce him as the "king of pop" if they wanted the rights to play Black or White music video..... he was obsessed and wanted BAD to be the best-selling album of all time, even outsell Thriller...
Sorry for dissapointing you,
but this this is an industry.
No. He had already sold millions of albums by the time and owned the Beatles catalog. Sorry.

Is this your way of defending Katy and her team? If so, you failed miserably. I may be dumb, but I'm quite sure every artist wants their album to be the biggest selling off all time, But they don't pull stupid cheap tactics to get there.

I don't need to defend anyone, i just listen to her music and i like it.
I'm not her family.
I'm just talking about people overreacting about music industry tactics.
I think Michael Jackson telling MTV to call him King of Pop in exchange for his video is as fair as Katy releasing a f***king remix with Missy Elliott.

He had already sold millions of albums and gotten deserved number ones. If he thought that he was the king of pop then thats his opinion. However, people had to believe it if it increased his sales
Do you think Britney and Madonna kissing on Mtv Awards, Michael Jackson making Mtv to claim he was King of Pop, Lady Gaga wearing a meat dress, Marilyn Manson acting like devil..... all that... are not business tactics in order to sell a product?
Katy Perry did it too singing about Kissing a Girl,
and everybody want those sales, records, even when you already sold millions, when you stan for a pop star be ready for those tactis.

Your right most things that artist do are tactics. However there is a difference between a planed out strategic tactic, and a cheap underhanded tactic. I think in most people opinions the remix was a cheap, underhanded tactic that was not well planned out and it made some people lose respect for her

I'm wondering if Katy will get that number 1 or not...
Probably not. Some people already started celebrating they don't wanna see her getting more number ones with one album than their faves in their whole carreer
I had a feeling LFN wasn't gonna make it, and deservedly so. Everything was so flawlessly handled for the Teenage Dream era, but it's sad that it's going to end on a bad note if this is indeed the last single.
