I'm lowering all my expectations for Applause. From the video, to the sales, the charts and her longevity...
So that when she proves me wrong I will be like:

Because she said that you can pick up ARTPOP as a physical and just get the app suggests it's optional not pay for what ever she is suggesting you pay for in the app. That means that you pay for only ARTPOP as an album in the app (but it's still optional). Since that's the only payed thing in the app, it makes sense that the unreleased does not cost and only the optional music costs.
She gets to "sell"(or give it away) the music directly from her.
No third party
I wonder if outlets will cockblock Lady Gaga for doing this...
This could be seen as a big backlash from major corporations.
I bet you $20 it's a link to iTunes or buying from her official store, which counts as a sale, so it wouldn't really matter since it counts for Billboard as long as the sale is $3.49 or higher.
Preordering app, album. Buying the first single. Watching the video entire week on loop to break the record. Buying the physical copy when the album comes out. Also twitter support.
