I already told TC to get rid of SYG if he wanted to talk about ATRL maintaining a certain image. That thread is just as bad as NHB.

We have always been open to users complaining about something hurting them too much, which is another reason why the moderators act subjectively, since what is bullying to you may not be to someone else. You can at least know they are getting it out of the system since the users are not known ad there are other forms of support on this forum. If it's self-contained, a user can more easily avoid the other member and find more enjoyable threads. Both threads exist to help keep other threads more on track.

Glad you're more accepting of the general rules now that you've got your NHB/SYG concern out of the system.

We did reminders for the first few days, then we did points for the rest of the time. It was the other night when it went to thread bans, and it's just for 2 weeks.

In any case, one can only hope the moderators (or whoever is in charge) have listened to what members are telling them with open ears and at least thinking and talking about trying new methods, if only temporary. I know there really isn't much incentive to come up with creative solutions to the problems at hand seeing as you're not paid to do so, but when a good amount of members are describing the same problem like you've seen today in HQ, then you know it's something that needs to be looked into and discussed behind-the-scenes, instead of sometimes throwing out dismissive responses to members.

Actually, what is that picture showing? Are we to focus on the reaction or just that it's an unbecoming picture? Why is that picture being used? Seriously, it's pointless, but at least in that sense, it's more about context. We do take context into account.

If it makes you ask all those questions it's not so pointless after all is it? But on a serious note, I feel like that whole idea of "pictures/gifs/smilies are pointless w/o text" is a forced perspective ya'll are trying to push onto the users. No one thinks into it like you make it appear. They see the image in whatever form it's presented (still or GIF) and they interpret a meaning for it which in turn leads them to formulate an appropriate response.

I guess, from what I see, it's really not that serious either way. It's kind of silly to dictate how members choose to express their thoughts and if they don't follow that format those thoughts are labeled as "pointless". Really think about it. Body language and other subtleties of communication are as equally important as outright text/speech. Images are that body language when it comes to online posting. If a user were to jump into a thread where the first few comments were "" the best it could do is reveal to them the mood of the thread and the worst it could do is have them scroll three comments further. Really not that serious either way.

But like I said above, I'm not arguing for this to go through.

January 2012 was the last time. 4 mods were added then.
The admins will usually determine the need for more mods, and there's an application process. Posting history, sanity, unbiasedness, being intelligent, having a low amount of WPs etc. will help you greatly. It doesn't really matter who you stan for, unless you stan for Beyoncé; you will be automatically disqualified.
