Oh and 14 tracks for standards, and I'd be here for a deluxe edition. The BTW one doesn't count considering how useless and terribad the bonus tracks were.

Born This Way was a cultural movement, not a musical movement. And what I've come to realize is that she has outgrown the idea of being a musician. She wants to be a fashion icon, anti-bullying activist, producer, song writer, model, actress, fragrance tycoon and oh by the way.. a singer. If she is doing all of these things at once obviously none are going to be perfect. Her music career has suffered the most and unfortunately I think that is what made her able to branch out anyway. Looking back on the Born This Way era it was never truly about music.. it was about spreading a message.. it was about reaching people and starting an anti-bullying campaign which most of the songs on the album is focused on... most non diehard fans felt that the album was too preachy.. not enough "happy in the club with a bottle of red wine" esque songs and it ultimately lead to the lack of commercial appeal. While she was writing Born This Way she was touring then when the album released she suffered through lackluster singles that did not achieve the amount of success she was expecting. In the meantime she started the Born This Way foundation,started writing a new album, broke up with Luc and started dating someone new, filmed a movie, filming another movie, released a fragrance, wrote fashion articles, did the mugler thing, and now shes started another tour..... where does music rank in this list? We all sit and obsess over her next endeavor, who knows it could be cliff diving? Back to my point about Born This Way... it was like a Christmas album without christmas... it was all about the general theme of acceptance and loving your self and being strong we get that.. but at the same time you don't make a Christmas album to celebrate music you make it to celebrate christmas.. Born This Way was the same way.. it was about a vision and not making a hit record.
Michael Jackson was the most successful pop artist of all time. Still is... He did not do much other than focus on his music... which is why all of his stuff was perfection. Gaga has the same creative abilities as MJ and she has proven it.. but she is seperating herself from him in a bad way with all the extra stuff and we as fans have to accept that music may not be one of her priorities anymore.. although I do have hope...
she DID say something that stuck out to me today .. it really registers with everything that I have wrote to this point in this long windy post... she said something to the effect of she hasn't stopped since she released the fame and she has not had time to recharge her gaga batteries.. and that is one hundered percent true. Going back to Michael Jackson for a second.. He released thriller in 1982 and Bad in 1987... thats 5 years... Gaga has been in the public eye since 2008 and it is now 2013 roughly 5 years... ARTPOP will make Gaga's 4th album in 5 years... to put that into perspective.. she has literally had zero time to come up with a fresh sound and she is running on empty... this is not including all the extra stuff that I mentioned... she is busting her ass for us and we need to realize that ARTPOP is about the impossible.. how on earth does this woman write her own songs and keep it coming like this? I am with Gaga... I'll keep my stan card and im not selling my BTWB ticket.

If the album comes out in August that means it'll have been a full year from when she announced the title. She needs to stop announcing the titles 859387392 months before release.

I'm not sure i told you guys this, but Gaga and Interscope are going for a soft release this time around. Less initial promo (no promo assault). Less time between a formal announcement and the release date. I'm not sure where the timetable is at now, but I believe the single was supposed to be announced at the max two weeks before its release.
This is from November though, things may have changed.

But they're no longer working on Gaga's new era, so I haven't heard anything since November.

I think so too. She's trying to do it with the smallest amount of public hype possible this time it seems
And halien not necessarily. She was still working on BTW the single up to a few days before release date. Same with the album. It's a process and she's already said it has a release date. We just don't know when.

Just because she decided to do something a little more personal that didn't include lyrics about riding dicks and dancing, doesn't mean it wasn't about the music. Gaga has said time and time again that thee music comes first and it always will.

I thought this back when I thought she was going to release during the tour, but because she said she is waiting for the tour to end specifically so she can focus on promo, I don't think this anymore. And I mean, with all of the new music this year, she can't do a soft release, she has to come back with an absolutely massive bang.

Personally I think she needs a soft release. 2011 was full of huge artist and we all saw what happened. Most of their eras didnt turn out how they expected them to. Which is not a bad thing but she could actually benefit from releasing a single without too much notice and then announcing the album release date. Although that I agree that they shouldn't be too flimsy on promo.

I agree with that post about BTW. I have high hopes for ARTPOP since I didn't really liked the album. It's a 8/10 record for me. I just want that next album to be a party for the ears. I need fun and joy.
