"Cultural appropriation" is a biT of a dumb concept 99% of the time.
I mean, it's the internet age. You can't just expect people to make the music they "look like" they should make. Everyone "appropriates" **** these days. It's just kiddies on tumblr who've never dealt with actual oppression tryna make it some big ass deal.
I think that Jewels and Whatever song was definitely cultural appropriation. Not offensive, like some of Miley's antics lately, but cultural appropriation yes.
Honestly yes, I tried to ignore it but the whole jewelry and drugs thing featuring 3 black men who happen to rap is innocent on the surface of course but I mean me and you are both smart enough to know why it features them.
"We Can't Stop" is horrible, appropriation or not. I can't wait for the things here to stop bandwagoning that trash and the artist who sings it just because... And I can't wait for all the Beckys who think they've found a new trend to sit the **** down.

Joss stone doesn't make the music she "looks like" she's supposed to make and she's entirely appreciated and accepted by black culture.

Don't be a try hard.
