I personally don't care how Poker Face got to #1 or how long it was there for, I'm just glad it did It really deserved it, and if it hadn't been peaking between all of these massive new releases I'm sure it could have spent much longer on top.
And didn't anybody learn from Estelle's mistake? Pulling a hit single from iTunes does not drive people to the point of purposely going to a music store and paying 10$ for the album instead.
("American Boy" was pulled from iTunes in light of poor U.S. sales for the album, Shine. After the track was pulled, sales of the album actually DROPPED in the following week, and "American Boy" was put back on iTunes to salvage what was left of its potential)
