I don't think her voice is forced for that emotion, most pop girls base their ballads voices off as being as close to Whitney Houston as possible whereas Ke$ha clearly takes her ballad voice inspiration from the stars of yesteryear. It's somewhere between Janis Joplin and Bob Dylan.
