I was being sarcastic I don't really agree with whats in the spoilers. I think HxH is very well a shounen although it may have slightly different parts of it which are atypical of a shounen.

I felt great. I was angry and wanted revenge and wanted her to be destroyed completely. I Dont see how its any different than when a character is angry, powers up and beats the villains ass to oblivion

I've been following the anime since episode 3X was just airing, and its weird because it feels not long ago. At that time this anime was overlooked and I could barely find any people who watched it other than me, now the fandom is kinda huge and I never expected it but I'm really happy because it really deserves it

I kinda wrote a lot but I really love everything about it and rewatching it was such a good idea because I see things I couldn't see back in 2012 for example. This whole thing is a perfect deconstruction of shounen and I love this

Gon is fetus Goku, so I dont understand the hate. He's 12, not 21. He's acting like a normal kid.

But yes HxH deserves DBZ level of attention and praise imo.

HXH is a typical shonen... its not a deconstruction of the genre and thats ok its still a very solid anime series...

OPM isnt a deconstruction tbh its a satire...

i cant come up with a deconstruction shonen at the moment but the best example of a deconstruction anime is Madoka magika....

Madoka does exactly what deconstruction does... it takes a genre and its tropes and tries to give them a "logical" meaning or to explain it better why things work as they do and what are the real consequences
