See I don't think this is the case anymore. He USED to get away with anything and his numbers won't be affected generally
But recently with the Khan mess his numbers took a tumble and still hasn't recovered. In fact in most polls Clinton's lead is growing (still to this day). It's not a convention bounce because that doesn't explain her growing support (if it were somewhat stagnant you could make a case because we cba still be in the convention bounce period). But the Khan comments, which were reprimanded by everyone except his CNN supporters, actually did him in. These comments could exacerbate the problem
