In terms of success: we must look toward the point of the album.

The point BTW was released was in response to the recent LGBT suicides and to be an album of empowerment.

Nearly ever song on the album qualifies as such, and her empowering anthem(BTW: Song) has met its success and that goal and possibly farther than we can expect in the future if it remains a timeless empowering anthem.

So in terms of being an album of empowerment, BTW was successful.

anyway will the iheart festival be good promo for You and I? on one hand it's not televised and is not a big well-known show, but on the other it's being broadcast on hundreds of stations and could even help airplay

bruno mars was talking about how it's good b/c you're performing in front of people who aren't all within your fanbase due of the wide variety of acts performing. there are going to be a lot of rock fans. still feels like too much work for not enough reward...

Her overall success is not "a joke" compared to 2 years ago - you could say the same thing about Britney comparing her to when she first came out but she's still massive. Born This Way is on track to outsell The Fame (without Monster). Born This Way has become one of her signature songs. Y & I hasn't even peaked yet in most countries and she still has lots of promo. The Edge was still massive despite a crap video. I love how top 10 singles are considered a "flop" just because they aren't instantaneous #1. If she had kept her Fame look people would be bored of her now - look at Ke$ha. Sick of all this "flop" talk hopefully that will subside when Greatest comes out and BTW hits 7 million. To compare with Britney, her third album only had "Slave" as a massive hit compared to "Oops" and "Baby One More Time" it was nowhere near as big but iconic hits don't happen on EVERY album. That doesn't mean its a flop.

PS: I love how a "flopping" album produced 3 top 10 singles and a 6 week #1 and is still sitting at #7 on the United World Chart. If it was based on hype alone it would've dropped like a stone and Y&I wouldn't have gone top 10.
