The remix sounds great! It might be a smart idea for them to release the remix as a separate single on release week so it can count towards the song's BB debut position.
I'm kinda hoping that they don't give us the full song until it's release or at least wait until Monday. If they were to put it up on Vevo now, that might ruin the hype.
2:42 does seem kind of short, but I have several songs on my iTunes that are that length that don't feel too short. None that are well known, other than maybe "There She Goes" by the LAs and "Let My Love Open the Door" by Pete Townshend. I don't think it's a bad sign. That's time enough for a full verse/chorus/short second verse/chorus/bridge/chorus.
Hilary doesn't ever disappoint musically; so it will STILL slay no matter the length 
I'm obsessed.
