In the US, Elektra much prefer Ed Sheeran.
It is a shame because I don't think that Marina's ever been given that real push by any of her label, maybe their just not confident in her as a viable commercial artist.
Any success she has achieved, I feel, is in spite of her labels not because of her labels.

True. Her labels are terrible at managing and promoting her. I feel like I could do a better job, and I know jacksh!t about the music industry. She needs outside luck in order to hit it big, like having one of her songs played in a popular movie or TV show. Look at Florence + the Machine, the main reason they've blown up stateside is due to having DDAO featured in "Eat, Pray & Love". Next thing you know they get a performance slot at the 2010 VMAs, and the rest is history. And that was right as they were supposed to wrap up the "Lungs" era.
Marina's labels have done fµck all to promote her. Just one crummy performance on Jimmy Kimmel, a few radio interviews (when people barely listen to the radio anymore), and that's it? I think they're well aware of the fact that almost no artist these days can become successful on airplay alone, they just don't care. Which is sad, because with the right label, she could achieve mainstream success. Not necessarily be a chart topper, but still successful enough for an alternative act.
