Nah I think there are a lot of country fans who feel about Red Solo Cup the way pop fans here feel about SAIKI but RSC is selling as a party song of sorts to a crossover audience. That's why it's so high up on iTunes because it's selling to country and pop fans who do like it.

I agree that it must be crossing over and picking up general support, so I shouldnt be blaming country tbh. What I don't understand is why though? I can see the appeal behind SAIKI, for example. I don't particularly like it, but the video is debatably hilarious and it would sound amazing as a party song. With RSC however, I see almost nothing attracting people to buy the song. Its a huge conundrum to me
RSC has nothing on SAIKI...songs about loving yourself and calling yourself sexy is appealing to the general public but a song about a plastic cup is just trash
