Also TOL is at 5M and it came from a 2M selling album in the US and didn't even hit #1.

The Hills is approaching the 3M mark along with Bad Blood... So it's not like 3.5M is something unreasonable, specially if we are talking about a lead single.

Hello is at 4,2M because of the CMA effect, without it, it has actually sold over 5M.

But anyhow, I'm rooting for Riri to sell over 3M with 'Work', I know she can do it <3

Uhm. UF was released in 2014 and was literally a phenomenon. Same for TOL.

It was a lead single but the album was literally released they day after, it had no months before it (and months before album = bigger sales).

Not to mention sales market keeps decreasing, 3M would be BIG.

Complete My Album effect is when you buy a song when released as a single and then when the album gets release, you have the option to "complete" the album and the song already purchased gets included hence its sales as a single in this case are not counted.

Don't compare her with Rihanna who actually has a DIVERSE catalog unlike Katy . Every lead single from her has been different. Even 45S. But I guess if Katy sung it , that would have been 5x platinum

This wasn't about "quality". It was about selling power and I agree that Katy has more selling power than Rihanna.
