But come on, this track is only making headlines because she says "**** me." It's another clear-cut example of her management's carefully calculated controversy in the Britney comeback train (mmm alliteration). Instead of releasing a single with depth, they take the easy route.
"Unusual You" was the perfect third single; an uptempo winter ballad that shows a vulnerable side to Britney, something we have yet to see her team portray. She sings about being in love, but expects a broken heart - leaving Britney confused as she finds out her love interest, for once, has pure intentions. Unfortunately, we're left with Amy - a cocky, sex-craved clubber looking for her next ****.
I could not have said it better.

Ballad THIRD single would FLOPPPPPP along with it being UY.
IUSA is going to number one regardless of this ****ery edit.

I was a strong advocate for "Unusual You" as the 3rd single, expected "OFU", but got "IUSA". Personally I hope for "UY" to be released, but JIVE/management for her don't want to take any risks. Whoever typed that said it correctly, for the most part. This is another example of her controversial comeback. They won't take risks again until they're sure she can be successful with it.

Boy..Euro-inspired songs are the newest thing blowing at radio. It's in the same arena as "Forever" and "Closer" IMO. The song would be a hit.

Unusual You is Euro inspired? I learn new things everyday here at ATRL. Such as everything that is not your usual radio friendly crap is Euro.

Eh, it's not quite the same thing. This is the "Breathe On Me" of Circus. A fan favorite, but not entirely commercially friendly.

Well it sucks that they don't have enough faith in Britney ****ing Spears to take "risks". UY isn't even extremely "risky" IMO. It's radio friendly. It would automatically kill on Pop, it has the most WW appeal than any song on her album..the song would probably be one of the most successful singles of her career. This sucks ass.

Oh please, let go of your superior attitude and use your common sense. Compared to what's on radio today, hell yes, it's Euro. With a bit of a dance remix it would probably make a killing in the UK.

"Breathe On Me" is not radio friendly. I could hear this on the radio, and it's catchy.

EURO period. It's the new trend.
and this song is not a ballad as far as I'm concerned. I categorize it as a midtempo.

"Unusual You" would be a hit. First of all, it's Britney. Guaranteed Top 25 on Airplay, of course digital sales will be there, and on top of that it's AMAZING.
And it is not "Euro" inspired. It's a synth-driven track, just like a lot of tracks are. People need to listen to some European music before opening their damn mouth.

The synths aren't what make a track "euro" inspired.
I don't even like that term though. I'll just call it dance/pop like I originally intended to

Janet's popularity ended in 2002. How dare you compare to Britney?

I just can't see "Unusual You" being a hit, don't let your ears fool you, especially not with the US.
They're best bet on a ballad single is "Blur" in the US, but they could do UY WORLDWIDE and get a smash easily.
