The problem with being a Nicole stan is that she gets satisfied with just writing, recording and making the songs. We all know she wants to sell records, she wants to be recognized but most of the time she doesn't even give the songs a shot. These days i'm just really mad at myself for loving her. I wish a was a fan of someone who is really going for it and actually releasing music.

True, that is why i grew to love Tinashe, since her drive is purely based on releasing music, and if her labels isn't allowing her, she will just leak something or release a mixtape.
Nicole must be one of the most conflicting persons. On one side she wants all the success, world tours, releasing records and music and on the other side she wants to have multiply holidays and is very insecure about her craft, which often makes her choose shelving over releasing, while in this day and age there is also an option with 'sharing'.
There are so much platforms, like for example Pledgemusic, where artists can basically get their projects financed by the fans. I could easily see people, including us, that would invest some coins to see certain stuff be released etc.
I hope 2017 will be a little brighter, but sadly enough her biggest hit is also an anthem to this fanbase 'Don't Hold Your Breath'

Exactly. If Nicole wanted to give us music she would find a way to do it and if she couldn't she wouldn't be mad with the leaks we got in the last few months. The best part about Tinashe is that she loves the whole process of creating the songs but she knows that it doesn't feel complete if people aren't listening to it. She works as hard as she can to release everything she records for herself and for her fans. Nicole isn't doing for her or for us, it really seems like she doesn't care and it sucks cause we know she cares a lot about music.

Nicole said in that interview that she's bad with time (procrastinator), indecisive, socially awkward (with other humans), and an introvert. Her behaviour makes a lot more sense now.
I'm the same, so I can no longer hate on Nicole. But I'm still rooting for her!

Giving me DD album cover tease, isn't this the effect of those lip plumpers she uses?

But if she is so self-aware why didn't she act upon it ages ago though? She clearly need a guide for her career to help her make the right decisions. Instead she hires people who just do as she say, but since she doesn't seem to have an idea and is indecisive, she only made it harder for herself
I think that is why it worked during the first PCD era, since everything was handled for her, she got too much power during DD which put certain things off-track and during her solo projects it all just becomes a proper train wreck
The mistakes many artists like Nicole make is to think they're good at everything. She's an amazing dancer/performer, an outstanding vocalist, a great songwriter and a good interpreter/actress. But she's very bad at making business/industry decisions.
The same happened to Beyonce during the "4" era when she fired her father. That era underperformed commercially because she released the wrong songs and didn't take full advantage of certain PR strategies. Thank God she found new ways to market herself and regained lost ground with ST and Lemonade. It seems all those years with Matthew did help her.
Nicole needs someone like Matthew. That really knows the business and can help her rebrand herself and show all of her talents. Someone that can help her get the most nominations at Award Shows, as well as the best performing opportunities (Grammys, AMAs, BRITs, BBMAs, VMAs, EMAs, etc). X-Factor and random TV appearances are not enough. That person should also choose the right singles, which Nicole somehow did in the Killer Love era but not quite in the Big Fat Lie era. And that person should, most of all, PUSH HER to release music. ENOUGH of all these shelved albums. It's the most stupid thing in the world. No matter how much you sell, at least you will sell more than ZERO, which is what she sells by shelving those albums. Also some songs may catch up and turn out to be unexpected fan-favorites or even hits. Pretty could've been a top 10 had she released it back in 2011.
Nicole had a different manager during Killer Love. It was Jeff Haddad, the same guy who managed PCD.
And I agree with most of what you said. I've said the same thing about Nicole lacking business/marketing skills and desperately need good management. Beyonce completed destroyed her negative DC image thanks to Matthew's great work. They did everything they could to change DC's image when Survivor came out like giving them all singing parts. It's a shame Nicole didn't have a manager to do the same with her. They would have delayed her solo debut and pushed the other Dolls to sing to make Nicole look better. Now she's stuck with this stigma attached to her.
And I've said the same thing about the shelved material too. There are smaller artists who have gained loyal fan bases thanks to their music being available on Spotify, Pandora, etc. Many people discover music that way. Nicole's whole career is just a waste of potential. It's like that THR article that called her "a waste of a national resource."
