I swear, as a person of color, this is so saddening. Yeah, I really hate Taylor and Lipton was right in that she has a major character flaw and is a walking hypocrite. But being black should NOT excuse your wrongdoing. SJW have officially been hired in the mainstream media. 
The REAL issue here is how damn petty, selfish, and conceited Nicki was in basically demanding noms instead of accepting her others classily and moving on. The ****?
The REAL issue is how Nicki took a "jab" at another woman's skinny body image, was NOT ready for the response, and backtracked.
The REAL issue is how Nicki took all this and pulled the race card, the ONE trump card, because she knows Taylor can't come for that. She KNOWS the media would destroy Taylor if Taylor called her out. That's disgusting. Being a minority shouldn't equal a free pass. Ever. And the race card had NO validity in her original complaints about Anaconda not being nominated nor Taylor's reply to her slim comments. NONE. Taylor didn't even reply to her racial comments yet the media is painting her as a racist.
I'm kind of disgusted at the liberal media's incompetency in analyzing Nicki's true behavior.

As a person of color as well, I completely agree. It literally irks me that people use the race card for literally everything in our day and age. Eventually no one is going to care about legitimate black issues because the only thing you see in the media is people making big deals over petty **** instead of actually fighting for things that matter.
Pulling the race card on not getting a nom at the VMA and having everyone unnecessarily call Taylor a racist is exactly why even some non-racist white folks are now having a hard time wanting to fight for black equality. We are beginning to love anything that paints a white person in a negative light even if said person literally did nothing wrong. This victim mentality is only going to set us back further.

I agree, this isn't about race. This is just Nicki whining because her videos didn't get nominated for VOTY. She's using race because it's her way of validating why those videos we're not nominated. Can't accept the fact that the videos we're not VOTY worthy. She needs to suck it up and be happy with the noms she already has

I really can't believe that Nicki is arguing that "nudity/controversy should = automatic VOTY nomination." Anaconda, Wrecking Ball and Toxic all share nudity and controversy in common but that alone isn't what got them nominated. Wrecking Ball and Toxic were nominated because they're fantastic videos. Anaconda is a cheap, unimaginative, badly produced video with an even worse soundtrack.

Barbz and Katy Kats need to stop blindly stanning & stop pretending like the tweet wasn't about her just cause she didn't @ her. She RT'd tweets about Taylor getting Kanye'd again and the only possible people she could have been talking about with record braking videos showing skinny women were Taylor and Miley and this was probably directed at both of them.
Taylor didn't play around like Nicki, she straight up asked her why she's attacking her but Nicki backtracked. It's ridiculous to say that only skinny women get rewarded when Beyonce was nominated for VOTY and they have similar body types (except Bey is real).
I fail to see how showing yourself naked is meant to be empowering for anyone. If anything, it should be insulting because this makes women look like sex objects. No one is gonna look at Anaconda and think "wow, what a brave girl, making a bold statement with this artistic video". She's become a joke, a novelty act. No one takes her seriously and she deserves every bit of hate she receives.
Pulling the race card was ridiculous. The amount of black artists nominated this year (I'm not gonna name them all). She got 3 nominations but she's simply ungrateful. You can not compare this to actually iconic and remembered songs like Toxic, Wrecking Ball and Blurred Lines. Anaconda was an attempt to save the Pinkprint era after the lead single flopped. After a year, Anaconda is no longer in the Top 500 on iTunes (while other songs released at the same time like Shake It Off are at #65) and the video views fell flat. Just look at how front loaded they were
If the VMAs are all about popularity then Roar was 10 times bigger and ten times more iconic but it didn't get a single nomination. She needs to get over it because none of her arguments make sense. The only reason the media is on her side is because she called them out on being racist and always showing her as the 'angry black woman' (which in this case she is). If they favored Taylor then she'd prove them right and cry racism some more.
Her 'snub' has nothing to do with her race. The video is not artistic and it's nowhere near as good as Nicki makes it out to be. It just shows her touching girls' asses, twerking, eating bananas, putting whipped cream on her **** and giving lap dances.
PS hurricane is one of the best Katy Kats for not blindly following the others

I agree on that she shouldn't feel entitled to get noms, that if she can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and that she shouldn't abuse of the race card like a smoke screen covering her retreat.
Feeding the angry black women stereotype and devaluating the race card for her own short term gains, while potentially making it harder for those who come after her.
The media was never competent since the Internet convinced people to expect news for free. Most newspapers just copy paste something they have found and maybe change a few words.

Minority here too. Hispanic, born in Mexico facing as many obstacles as African Americans in the US and I always find it so sad that people use the race card to excuse certain behavoirs and if someone disagrees the'll always be called racist. I support minorities because I am one(date nothing but African Americans) and got nothing but love to other minorities but its tiring to see people always pulling it as an excuse. The saddest thing this all happened over a ****ing VMA nomination FOR ANACONDA and yes I understand issues go beyong VMAS but what does the VMAS have to do with all that MTV just thought her video wasn't good enough for VOTY and she did recieve one for best female video.
People always reply with you'll never understand, you fail to see the bigger picture. No hunties I do see it and understand it I just think there's times when it shouldn't be used/abused and that's what bothers me to see people overuse it in situations where its completely irrelevant. Now talk about jobs, police abusing minorities,etc,etc real life experiences with people who struggle YES I agree not over a ****ing VMA for Anaconda.
I said it many times be grateful for what you got there are tons of artists who were actually snubbed with not wo nominations like her BUT ZERO, NADA.
