i have questions about the night lock tbh

do you have to hunt the person in the correct space for it to work? does it work if they're hiding? or does it just like insta kill anyone

The Nightlock berries work just like any of the other items, i.e. Dagger, Hatchet, etc. Meaning if you are hiding, the berries are useless. If someone misses, the berries are useless. That sort of thing.
It's supposed to be an item for an instant kill, but only if the target is hit.
