I have more of a discussion to bring up. How do you all feel about cowrites? I have done one in about a year and a half and I kind of like it like that. All of my cowrites end up being kind of simple because we're all fighting for what we want in the song and it ends up being mediocre in the end. I did have a songwriting partner for a few months a while back that got me though and we wrote amazing songs together. So I guess it depends on the person.
I usually like co-writes if we're willing to hear each other out on what we each want to bring to the song. I think if one person is overpowering the other, then it won't work out well… I've been in several situations where the song was going so well with this one person on the day we start, and then they flip the script the next day and scrap what we just did. (Like, why the **** did I even write anything with you to begin with…?) But, co-writing can be a fun time, and you get to gather more experiences for you from the writing buddy…

Ive only done one co-write ever, and it worked very well. I think for more simple songs, its good because a lot of the time someone else can put my thoughts into lyrics better than myself. Also its not like your fighting over the meaning of the song, so its good for mindless bops. However when it comes to more personal songs, I dont really tend to co write simply because I feel that it loses the connection it has with me.
I finally got to writing an English cover of "그리워해요 [Missing You]" by 2NE1! It was so much fun, now I need to just record it!

It's a hard rock/heavy metal song. The line in capitals is supposed to be screamed. I know it's not great but only just starting out. So I'm kind of pleased with it.

My mom was cleaning our house whilst we were packing to move and she accidentally threw out my song-book. All the songs i'd ever written my whole life, hundreds of them, all gone. I kinda haven't been able to write anything since it was kind of a big blow to lose every emotion/memory/everything like that.. I'm trying to get back into it.
I think I probably have 45/50 (I don't know how many I have, somewhere between 50-75) of the songs I've written memorized so thats good. And I constantly change lyrics in my mind so my lyric books are always just reference for me. But that really sucks. I can't imagine how that would be. Thats why I have about half of my songs on the computer.
These were all from before I was big on computers, from my child-hood and early teens. I had a whole folder on my old computer from my teenage years, then that broke and I lost all those too. I just have bad luck
If you do decide to get into it again, you should save all of them on Google Drive. I, too, lost a few songs because my computer crashed. I decided, after that, that I should save everything onto my Drive. Only way you can lose those songs is if you forget the password to your account and didn't set up any way of password recovery.
I'm was in the studio write now co-writing with another singer! Omg his voice is soooo amazing!!! The producers are so freaking intelligent! Nothing sounds generic but yet it fits perfectly for radio! I'm so excited
