Destiny's Child was never iconic, or had the worldwide appeal that the Spice Girls had.

DC has more memorable hits and the majority of their record sale come from out of the US. Particularly Europe and in the UK.

Spice Girls may have sold more worldwide, but DON'T go trying to make DC seem like they were only local.

Understand something, having memorable hits and impressive record sales has NOTHING to do with being iconic. Being iconic means a person or group has an easily recognizable characteristic that alludes to said person or group. "Wannabe" alone is more iconic than anything in Destiny's Child's catalog because it signaled the wave of teen pop that would follow from 1997-2001, and it defined the pop sound of the 90s. Their image of five girls with individual persona can easily be alluded to them. Destiny's Child was no different from EnVogue, TLC, and the rest of the R&B girl groups of the 90s. Because the Spice Girls have always been the bigger act, they were able to resonate with more audiences, and reach more people.

Before all the publicity from the Spice Girl reunion, little had been heard from Chisholm in North America following the success of her solo debut, 1999's "Northern Star," which sold close to 3 million units worldwide.
