Back at No.1 in New Zealand after 68 weeks in the top 5....I think this is its 37th week at No.1...which would be an all time record here I'm sure....

As far as I know (someone correct me if wrong), 21 is the longest-running No 1 album in:
New Zealand - 37 wks
Ireland - 34 wks
Canada - 33 wks
Netherlands - 31 wks
It's also been No 1 for 38 wks in Belgium (Flanders) but I can't find any confirmation that's a record - but it must be surely!

According to Forbes:
Quote:
The big-voiced Brit has sold over 23 million copies of her smash album 21, even more amazing in an era when selling 500,000 copies is a strong showing. With hits like "Rolling in the Deep" and "Rumor Has It," the singer-songwriter continues to reap the rewards of heavy airplay and digital downloads.

Adele heads IFPI 2011 global countdown
Adele’s 21 has topped IFPI’s top global sellers chart for 2011 with the highest calendar sales since the countdown was created a decade ago .
The XL album finished as the past year’s biggest seller after shifting 18.1 million copies worldwide, easily beating the highest previous tally recorded by the IFPI for Eminem’s The Eminem Show in 2002. His album sold 13.9 million units that calendar year

so adele's album has sold 18M at 2011, and she sold like 6M at 2012 so far

It's more than that because the 18 million figure is shipped and the 6 million figure is actual sales so I reckon shipments will be currently running at 25 million. She's clearly going to smash the competition 2 years running. Which is 'Thriller' territory.

I love me some Adele, I just hope she doesn't approach Shania's 40+ million with Come On Over.

After 68 weeks with well over 200K every other week? flop are you kidding me?
When you add the 34K from 19, Adele still sold well over 200 K this week... do you know of any other western artists to have done this this week? There aren't any...with album sales of over 21.6 million 21 and Adele is still well on top after 68 weeks...

If an album had been as succesful as 21 back in the nineties, Adele's sales would have already slayed Shania's "come on over"... the fact that an album like 21 is well over half its sales (60%) in the digital download era is freakin phenomenal.....
