In Marcellus' defense, it was the very first golden power of veto. Of course today it's standard for a nominee to use the veto on themselves, but it was an unfamilar tool then.
Lawon on the other hand was in a great position that week with one of his allies as HOH yet campaigned for his own eviction because he thought it would benefit his game. It doesn't get any worse than that.
