I think it goes both ways. I've always thought one reason why is because only either Namie or Kumi can stay in the top HBIC spotlight. It just seems like both of them can't be as successful as they can be with the other one around. Just what I've noticed.

Almost every Utada stan I've seen in Utada fansites appreciate music from all of the divas. They didn't really seem to have a second fav.

Weird because there actually similar in many ways.
If I were to pick out of the 5 divas, two who are the most compatible for a collaboration I would say Namie & Kumi for sure.

They're also both each other's first similar artist on last.fm

I used to be a massive Kuu stan, which explains why I've been to all her tours. However, in the height of the digital era, I've discovered too many artists from different countries. I can't pick a fave anymore.

Yeah. Do you think the tables are switching again? Like from 2005-2007 Kumi kinda ruled over while Namie was recovering in sales but still not doing as well as she did in her prime and from 2008-2010 Namie made a comeback with the start of Kumi's decline. I think 2011 could kinda see a reversal again. I don't mean for this to be flamebait btw just what I think could happen.

Well Hikki isn't going to be around anymore so I agree that Namie will easily be ahead of Ayu.
But who knows. I think Kumi could end up doing similar numbers to Ayu even with the huge hits. I just don't want to get all excited about her comeback before it actually happens and jinx it.
