Did you guys know that Ke$ha's been accused of being transphobic? That was surprising to me seeing as Take It Off is about a drag show
Who said that?
That is the stupidest accusation ever. She's friends with Jeffree Star, and like you said.. "Take It Off" is about a drag show, and she's actually attracted to drag queens.

And she has a song about drag queens, Pretty Lady.
People say that songs like Pretty Lady and calling them trannies is offensive
People get so butthurt over stupid things. Ke$ha is probably the most accepting of any pop star (sans Gaga of course, even though Ke$ha seems a little more humble about it).
You guys should request Wide Awake on the radio, stream it, and buy it. You don't want want Carly to get a 9th week at #1 and cone for Kesha's wig, do you?

I wish I could help, but I don't live in the US so anything I do wouldn't count to the Hot 100.
"Wide Awake" really deserves to be #1 though. It feels like a lifetime that Carly has been there.
^ She says it in interviews a lot when referring to drag queens, which is kind of ignorant because drag queens aren't really "trannies" -- they're men who occasionally doll themselves up for fun. So to lump them and MTFs, actual trans people living as women and who spend their lives trying be acknowledged as such, into the same category is a little offensive. And I guess most people in the trans community consider the word a slur anyway.
Grow A Pear got her a lot of flak as well iirc, but with the FTM community this time instead. "No, I don't want to see your mangina." "I just can't date a dude with a ***." And so on and so forth.
BUT!! Her heart is obviously in the right place and she's obviously a friend/ally, so I don't think anyone should get all bent out of shape over a few misguided quotes. She isn't transphobic. People just like to blow things out of proportion imo.
