Destroy her career or make her a Critic Darling and a Grammy sensation? I guess we'll never know.
Let's be real though, Legendary Lovers would've been guaranteed at least one Grammy had it been lead single. Very week competition in the three categories it could've been up for that year.
Know what would've been really exciting, interesting and destroyed all critique of Katy forever? If she had released Choose Your Battles as the lead single. When Roar came out she was at the point in her career where anything she released would've hit #1 on iTunes, but after that would it have flopped to oblivion or been a decent hit for her? (Unconditionally only missed #1 on iTunes because everyone who would've bought it first week bought the album instead.) Battles is the only ballad on the album I'd even remotely consider releasing as lead single, would've been an amazing risk, could've released Roar at the end of September if the risk failed and she needed a hit for the album.
The new 21, tbh.
Obviously would never happen, but if it did i think that would've been my proudest moment as a fan.
