The difference is that Johnson and Farage are actually politicians who know to a certain extent how things work. Trump is just extremely extreme on everything

We also have to consider that Americans get way more kids on average than Europeans, and the migrant population is waaaaay bigger in the US. This means that regressive forces are a smaller part of the overall population.

The US might be a very right-leaning country in general, but the luck that the regressives had with Brexit isn't going to happen for Trump. The regressives actually managed to make Brexit sound like a rational choice by continuous propaganda and well-educated people telling you that it could work. It's impossible to rationalise voting for Trump likewise.

People need to stop acting like all of the Brexit vote was hatred of immigrants & xenophobia. Some of it sure, but most people were just worried about the country losing its sovereignty to Brussels. There's a big difference between that very rational concern and what Trump is offering.

Also, immigration control (which is what the Leave campaign was offering, and what the USA already has) is a bit less extreme than building a wall.

It also answered the question of how many, the clip says 5 national polls must give someone 15% before they can enter a presidential debate.
