The difference is that Johnson and Farage are actually politicians who know to a certain extent how things work. Trump is just extremely extreme on everything
We also have to consider that Americans get way more kids on average than Europeans, and the migrant population is waaaaay bigger in the US. This means that regressive forces are a smaller part of the overall population.
The US might be a very right-leaning country in general, but the luck that the regressives had with Brexit isn't going to happen for Trump. The regressives actually managed to make Brexit sound like a rational choice by continuous propaganda and well-educated people telling you that it could work. It's impossible to rationalise voting for Trump likewise.
By the way, did Hillary's fivethirtyeight go from 90% to 80%?
