I'm not a player but I actually thought this round was easier than the previous two. They were very specific lyrically and there's not much you can do if you just don't have a song that fits that theme; however, percussion is present on every album and you can write a much better essay if it's not based on the lyrics imo.

I get what you're saying and I agree but it's hard to find a song where the instrumental "makes" the song, you know what I mean?
Does Chill frame every round?? i thought he did only the last two!
and i think this round was pretty good! its easy to find a song that stands in its meaning by its production, i can think of so many songs right off the top of my head! but i think he just made it impossible for some players by specifying it to Percussion, since some artists dont use percussion as much!
but even though i had a hard time finding fitting song last round, i think ChillBill is doing a pretty great job by thinking outside the box themes that require work and thinking and a thorough knowledge of your album!
P.s. as i was writing it, i realised the fine beat-boxing in Ed Sheeran's album! i wonder which song Potent will choose!! i am ready to stan! i hope its the second single tho..
EDIT: my essay came out at Exactly 748 charachters in the first try.. first round when i dint require any editing!
Now i know I should stop sending in anything period for this game, but hey practice makes perfect (until I get thread banned )
Anyway here is my entry for this round:
The song although a B-Side for a track, it really should have been somewhere on this LP considering its semi-haunting vocals from Will, an 80's like retro feel, and it remains thematically on topic. When the track begins, it starts off with the snare drums & then forms a repetitive routine yet maintains an interesting sound for the song duration. Richard X, the producer, only uses the synthesizers, keyboards, and Will's vocals to compliment the snares. Although snares is the leader of the track, the Bass Drums works underneath the downbeat to maintain the rhythm and the cymbals are mainly to get from the 4 to 1 count for the verse to the chorus portions of the song. I chose this song as it's my favorite song by Will, it needed more promo
PS. Please inform me of an open critique, I want to improve on my entry skill if you will. Please and Thank You
