Starboy: 11.7/10(I’m a mother-****ing star-boy, nuff said)
Party Monster: 10/10
False Alarm: 8.5/10( THE YELLING FALSE ALAAAAAARM YES)
Reminder: 8.5/10
Rockin: 8.2/10
Secrets: 7.2/10
True Colors: 12/10(BEAUTIFUL SONG OMG) (this song is surprisingly controversial, since lots of people don’t like it??? I’m confused why)
Stargirl Interlude:10.7/10(really confused by this song, but it’s great)
Sidewalks: 7/10(Mother-****ing star boy needs to MOTHER-****ING CHILL WITH THE AUTOTUNE DUDE LIKE YOUR ****ING CASEY ANTHONY CHLOROFORMING ME IN IT, just stop)
Six Feet Under: 8.6/10 (some parts sound like demo, some parts have a completely different beat) (7 points if you include the rap, but I try to ignore the rap in my ratings)
Love to Lay: 9.2/10
A Lonely Night:5/10 Not really my thing, just repeats way too much the words “a lonely night” but like it’s chill vibes……
Attention: 10/10: Great song like I’m here vibeing hard to this.
Ordinary Life: 9/10: I really love the lyrics of this one, and it’s a good song. Not really a song that’s groundbreaking, but like I really am compelled by this song for some reason. Your milage may vary.
Nothing Without You: 8.5/10(this beat is neat, but all the beats on this album is phonomonal tbh)
All I Know(Featuring Future) 7.3/10(Ok again this beat is alright and i’m it’s a decent track, even with not being a future fan at all. But still a low point on this album)
Die For You: 9/10(Great lyrics, slowly grows on you throughout the song)
I Feel It Coming: 11.5/10
160.9/180 or 158/180 if you count 10 as the highest score you can give.
As a casual listener/non-stan, i’m excited to hear Abel’s future musical direction after this album. If you like typical tracks from “The Weekend ” this is definitely a different album compared to what Abel has released in the past. However, it is a good kind of different. It has some very high points(STARBOY, Party Monster, TRUE COLORS, Stargirl Interlude, Love to Lay, Attention, Ordinary Life, and I Feel It Coming, with Die for You slowly creeping up on you) and some low points(Secrets and Sidewalks are drowning in autotune), A Lonely Night(which is definitely meant ONLY for late night acid trips when you need to slow down your music), and All I Know(where Abel’s modern beats can’t help make up for Future’s usual Nasally sound and a typically boring song) However, this album is destined to appeal to all sorts of different types of people, and I would definitely recommend this album as a nice listen, with many songs having a great repeat value. May this album has lots of success. Overall I would say the album is something that has a lot of potential, and I hope it does well, because he sure as hell earned it.
