How can anyone be pressed by the Hunger Games though? All the movies it is being compared to have grossed A LOT more, so I'm confused as to how anyone could be feeling sad or pressed by it?
No one can deny it's impressive box office returns, and I don't think anyone has. And everyone seems to have enjoyed it. So...
That's what i'm saying. Why are people constantly shading and dragging THG by movies that have grossed A LOT more? It's not like anyone in here is saying THG is more successful or anything.
We all knew The Avengers and TDKR were going to be some of the biggest movies of the year. I don't see why you have to put down the success of THG just to get that point across.

I think because THG fans were acting like it was demolishing all these other movies when in fact it isn't close. It (the series) has just begun and has some time before it can even compare.
The first half moved really slow, had poor dialogue, and the comedy was overly cheesy. The second half was better, but only motivated by some good action scenes. The villain they chose was really bad: he wasn't threatening in the physical or psychological sense at all. The fact that Black Widow was able to trick him so easily was laughable.
Just watched the film. I loved it. Nothing was lacking for me, though I could've used less comedy, specially from Iron Man but at least it's not 'bomb here, explosion there' crap ala Transformers, and Jeremy Renner > the other guys.
Even if it doesn't top DEATHLY HALLOWS 2's $91M Friday take, I still think it will surpass its $169M record weekend gross. Because DH2 opened in July, when Friday grosses are bigger due to Summer break. And part of its $91M Friday gross was the huge $43 from Thursday midnights; AVENGERS' midnights are only $18M, meaning it's less front-loaded and made more on Friday. History will be made
