My initial reaction was that Gaga gets embarrassed when Diane praises/hypes her so explicitly.

Haha this so much, People act as if Gaga and Diane were two completely strangers, they have worked constantly writing her new album so obviously they trust each other.
Gaga is simply being humble andnot accepting praise from someone very important like Diane
