The reason is racism, everyone knows it.
And I agree with Utada, she was the one who should have made it. She's truly a genuine artist, writer and good singer but the US didn't support her at all
Have I ever mentioned looks in here? What I'm saying is that J.Lo is not white so I don't get how it's impossible for America not to stan for an Asian act specifically because of their race. Why is it hard to believe that any Asian could be a global popstar?
There is no correlation between J.Lo and Asian women, so no, we don't get your point.

As in Asian women and J.Lo are both not white? I mean if J.Lo, whose both parents are Puerto Rican, can be a popstar, then why not Asians? You said "People aren't here for Asians" and that you can't see anyone stanning for an Asian popstar so I was puzzled at why you'd think so
I think there will eventually be an Asian pop star. One difference between Asians and other minorities is that, people who are half-black and half-white are usually seen as black (such as Obama), while people who are half-Asian and half-white are much more often seen as mixed. So as more and more people have mixed Asian-white children, and if the mixed population has the same social standing as whites, it will be much more of the norm to see people with some Asian features in the media. I think this will lead to the acceptance of seeing full Asian people in the media as well.

Latinos too. A person that is half black and half latino is seen as just black whereas a person that is half white and half latino are seen as white depending on the skin tone unless you're jessica alba.
Because there is a huge cultural gap between Asia and the west so their poo stars don't really translate here. Though I could see an Asian American poo star doing well.
It's obvious racism. You can already see the problem in this thread, as most people are talking about artists from Asia. There are tons of people with an Asian background who were born and raised in western countries, and they're not even being considered. In pop culture it's like they don't exist. It's systematic suppression of a whole race. They're not getting any further than runner-up on a talent show, or YouTube.
