I got the 522 error while browsing my friends list. Only had one tab opened.

Actually clicked on Johnny's name when I got slapped with that.

I just got the shortest 522 ever. It came out of nowhere (I wasn't on anything that usually gives me an error) and it lasted for like two minutes.

I just got another 522 Error message. Like Marq said, it lasted between 2 to 5 minutes. In my case, when I was able to use the site again, I noticed I had a wall post. Do wall posts, as well as friend requests, cause the 522 Error message?

They have been for me. Whenever I go to reply to one it happens.

But yes, they've been a lot shorter lately, I just had one and it was only about 10 minutes.

Got 522'd but turned off wifi on phone & now the site works with data WTF I wonder if this is some sort of racketeering scandal between ATRL and Verizon. Very smart tbh

I've been getting 522 messages randomly like once a day, but they go away quickly. Hope this gets fixed.

I've been getting these messages for the past few days but they occur within a specific time period 4pm-7pm. They occur randomly and usually last about five or so minutes. Hope a solution is found soon.

Did it happen ONLY when you accepted? Try just checking who it is from and then accept their FR on their profile. It'll say "Confirm Friend Request" and won't 522.

In more detail:

1. (On mobile) click the notification envelope. It will show you who your FR(s) came from without bringing you to the friends page.

2. Go to that member's profile page.

3. Under the tab that says "add or remove as friend," select "confirm friendship request."


Note that I did step 1 via mobile and steps 2-3 via desktop. Idk if it'll work any other way.

At least there's some workarounds. Better than running into 522s like a brick wall all the time.
