And not every black girl with short hair and punk-rock clothing is copying Fefe Dobson. I doubt people even know who that is anymore. Fefe's image was more butch anyway, while Rihanna's was more on the glamorous side.

I really can't wait. I've never been a huge Rihanna fan, but I totally loved Disturbia, and I'm so excited for this album cause I know she's gonna take that route. Russian Roulette is so beautiful.

I think Rihanna is kind of narrowing her appeal with this new image though to be honest. She'll keep all her hardcore fans and gain some new ones, but a lot of the casual fans who might be more on the conservative side are going to be instantly turned off by how dark it is.
I think she might gain more male fans. She seems to be going in the direction that she went in for Run This Town with Jay-Z and Kanye. Hip-Hop fans might like it.
