I hope the disco/funk movement comes in full force because of this!!!

Hasn't it already been, since 2013?
I don't hear what the rest of the world is hearing with UF. It's not awful but I don't hear what's so compulsively catchy about it. It's more annoying than anything really.

The song isn't deserving of overtaking mimi's immaculate untouched record

Lol why is this song still at #1?
I feel like Take Me To Church and Thinking Out Loud should have snatched it long ago

It's not like One Sweet Day is any better to hold that record. UF is actually miles better, but I like Mariahs overall discography much more so I hope she keeps it.
EDIT: To answer the question, Britney has to declare a Pop Emergency and release Pretty Girls

If those are the songs that we wished to be #1, then I rather have Mariah’s record be snatched. At this point I’m pulling for Earned It to be the one behind dethroning THE #1 of the year so far. I was like one when One Sweet Day was dominating. Now, Uptown Funk is heading to break da record. I won’t mind it when the record gets broken because I love both songs. Musically, they are opposites and I love those opposite songs. One is all having fun with the funk while the other one is such a beautiful song that has a meaning behind. At the end, I feel better listening to those two songs for different reasons. I did say when because I feel Uptown Funk is a monster of a hit and there’s no stopping it. The competition is tough, but Uptown Funk has been able to hold on as long as it can especially since the gap is huge. The songs are not underperforming as to say that it can get more support. Uptown Funk still in the top 10 on iTunes last time I checked.
Regardless of it ties or breaks it, ATRL will be a mess since they can’t handle a male on top of the charts, but they wished a male would be on top of them. Honestly, the mess already started in this thread. Come on, I know some of you are wishing for Uptown Funk to at least tie the record because of the knowledge that ATRL will be up in arms about it. Really, what does ATRL talking about these days. You guys have nothing but stan wars and the fun of dragging and shading while repeating the same old tried jokes. It's only when an unexpected event like Natalia Kills and Tidal ATRL gets interesting with all the juice. I'm just repeating myself while happily entertaining myself by typing these essay-like posts. Who knew following the charts could be exciting again.

Tbh. it will snatch Mariah but who cares? the thing is how many years someone held the record not who came second to break it.

Are people really wasting their time streaming other songs just so OSD holds its record?
Records are meant to be broken. Move on.

I mean
And yeah, without the extraordinary event of See You Again, UF would have tied or broken the record.

I can't believe See You Again just came out of nowhere like that. UF was on track for that record. Shame.
