Year of release: 2012, Genre(s): Dance, Language(s) - English, Album - J'Adore (2012)
I ironically stan for INNA since I have had Sun Is Up on loop in my head for like the past year and a half, and it will probably stay there til I die. I may as well at least act like I like it.
As for this song, I don't really know what sets this apart from the rest of her generic discography. Maybe it's the fact that there's an attempt at an electronic breakdown in the song. Anyway, I am still praying Sun Is Up will leave me alone, but it won't.
"And if you really love me, I'll never leave you lonely, boy you could be my only cause you got the key..."
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): R&B Ballad, Language(s) - Korean, Album - There's not really an album for this... (2014)
(This song doesn't have an official album cover so enjoy this gif. Jungkook's the one up front to the right)
Okay, listen here. Before any of you say ANYTHING about Jungkook, just know that he is my ultimate K-Pop bias and I will ruthlessly scalp you if you are mean to him in any way.
Anyway, MY EXTREMELY TALENTED OPPA JUNGKOOK IS PRETTY MUCH FLAWLESS. He can sing, as made intensely evident by this song, he can dance, he can rap, he can write (he wrote this version of the song, although the song is a cover of a song by Zion.T called Yanghwa BRDG.), and on top of all that, he is a perfect human being inside and out!
I do not usually care about ballads, especially if they're not in English, but I simply adore this song. When I found out that the song was about how his father was always working to support the family, and how he ended up doing the same thing to support his mother, it really resonated with me. I didn't get to see much of my dad when he was alive, and I know that in a way, my mom relies on me now. Maybe that's why I like the song so much. That, or because I love Jungkook so much.
*Jungkook, with his group BTS, will appear again on this countdown*
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Mia Martina (2014)
Third time on this list, wow! We're not even at the 1/4th part yet...or I guess this is the end of the first of four parts. Anyway, what ruins this song for me is the word "damn". It just doesn't vibe with me well. I guess that makes me a little bitch or something, but I think it ruins the song. Anyway, her vocals are flawless on this as usual, and the instrumental is cute.

Day 5 done already...I've done 2 days without going to sleep. Today's obvious winner is Mia Martina - she already had 9 points prior to today, but her song "Damn" got her 25 points, and the Jump Smokers remix of "Danse" feat. Dev got her 21 points - bringing her total points to 45!
Jungkook takes today's second place, Working his way up to 24 points. The trinity is rounded out by Inna with 23, and Tinashe walks away with 22(On). Dev and the Jump Smokers also now have an entry on the high scores, as their feature with Mia got them 21 points.

Get up & Danse a little today, and come back tomorrow to do it again!
Oh, thank you! I liked the idea of it myself, not only because I figured it'd be an entertaining way to sort of reveal my "Artist of the Year", but because I personally wanted to have a physical way of seeing which artists had the most "impact" on me this year. It's multi-functional!
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop, Language(s) - English, Album - Till Death Do Us Party (2014)
Another repeat; this time it's Adore. This song is actually pretty funny, although it's funnier if you know the references in the song (I don't). This song is just filled with funny one-liners and it's not a serious song at all - I really appreciated that aspect of it.
I actually like Alaska's part the best because they're hilarious in this song, both in their verse and the bridge. This song is just a really good song if you need a mood picker-upper.
*Adore Delano will appear on this countdown again, just without Alaska Vulgarname*
Year of release: 2013, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - English/Japanese, Album - Better Without You (2013)
This song sees the reason why I have Language(s) instead of Language: Some songs on my list have official versions in more than one language that I use. In this case, there is an English and a Japanese version of this song.
Anyways, I heard this song because the English version was remixed by Dave Aude, which landed it a spot in the Top 25 of the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart, which is a chart I actually pay attention to so I can find bops on it. Guess it goes without saying that I found it to be a bop.
Year of release: 2013, Genre(s): Dance Pop, Language(s) - Japanese, Album - Love & Peace (2013)
So one of my good sisT friends showed me this song really early this year, like early-to-mid January, and I fell in love with it. All I can think now is how ironic the title is.
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop Ballad, Language(s) - English, Album - Mia Martina (2014)
Wow look who it is again! So the reason this even charted as high as it did is because I find some really endearing and magical in the melody during the chorus. That and of course Mia Martina's voice is flawless. However, I don't really connect emotionally to this song, and admittedly I don't listen to this song much.
Year of release: 2014, Genre(s): Pop MIdtempo, Language(s) - English, Album - Unlocked (2014)
Alexandra's first song on the chart! Unlocked overall was a pretty solid album, although I can't really say it was exceptional, but about the song itself. I think the island vibe in this song, it kind of brings the opening line of the song to life...maybe that's just me, but it's something I liked about the song. The opening line is what made me like this song.
*Alexandra Stan will appear again on the countdown*
ARTIST HIGH SCORES
__________________________________________
Okay...day 6 has passed uneventfully, but today sees an interesting turnout for the high scores. Today is the first day where the final song of the day's artist is not #1 on the high scores, and the first time an artist has not been dethroned from their top spot after a day, as Mia Martina nets herself another 29 points with "I Don't Love You Anymore", bringing her eclipsing total up even higher to 74!!!
Another interesting turn of events is that second-to-last reveal is not going to claim second on the HS, either. Adore Delano gained 26 points for her collaboration with Alaska Thunder****, and along with the 17 points she gained previously, now has a total of 43 points! Girls' Generation gained 28 points with "Karma Butterfly", and along with the 11 they had previously, they now have 39 points, putting them in third!
Alexandra Stan, although having the highest charting song thus far, is only 4th, as "Give Me Your Everything" only nets her 30 points. Faky is the bottom of the 5, as "Better Without You" got the girl group 27 points.
Mia Martina, Adore Delano, and Alexandra Stan - 3 of the Top 5 currently - all have at least one more entry on the chart, although some other artists also have at least one more song charting. How will this affect the high scores? Will someone dethrone Mia Martina? You'll just have to keep watching to find out.
Here's a quick overview of the high scores as of now:
Mia Martina - 74
Adore Delano - 43
Girls' Generation - 39
Alexandra Stan - 30
Faky - 27
Alaska Thunder**** - 26
Jungkook - 24
Inna - 23
Tinashe - 22
Dev/Jump Smokers - 21
Mandy Rain - 20
Darin/Prophet of 7Lions - 19
Mediks - 18
Miss A - 16
Lip Service/Yellow Claw/Rochelle - 15
Meghan Trainor - 13
Felix Cartal/Clockwork/Madame Buttons - 12
E-Girls - 10
Zest - 8
GP Basic - 7
Little Nikki - 6
ToppDogg - 5
