Starting off this update is "Raging Fire" from Phillip Phillips. This is the first time he has officially appeared in my year-end-countdown. He appeared twice as part of the bonus song list for 2012 and 2013. This is a good song and the only American Idol artist to appear on my list this year.

Once again, I almost hear an influence of the 80s in this song. This is one great song from New Politics that is really meaningful. Has great lyrics and beat that it becomes a catchy song that seems to come to mind when least expected.

Colbie Caillet makes it another year in my countdown. "Try" is beautiful and it's one of those songs that gets you emotional. She touched upon a very prominent topic especially amongst younger adults and teenagers to send a positive message about self image. This song should have been at least a top 10 hit for her but it did got her media buzz.

"Lock Me Up" sounds like a hit! It sounds very mainstream, catchy and radio friendly. This song could have put The Cab on the map. I hope it's not too late ,Taylor Swift please promote this song. .

Calvin Harris does wonderful collaborations with other artists, and John Newman is another great collaboration for this song. I love this song, and John Newman has a different kind of voice that's just right for this song.

God, I really need to listen to more of Sara B. She sounds like she would be right up my alley, but I've listened to the big hits.

Oh, and...

This song will most likely become his signature song people will remember him by.

Not in a universe with "Ordinary People", it won't. And I love both songs, but even though "All of Me" was a big hit, "Ordinary People" resonates even more than it did when it was first released a decade ago. It's timeless.

Starting off the top 20 is "Chandelier" from Sia. This is the first time Sia has appeared on my year- end countdown ever. This song is very moving. Heard her say in an interview that though she wrote the song, she thought someone else was going to end up singing it. Glad it was released as hers and the music video has become iconic.

This song makes feel like you're back in the early 90s when euro-dance music was popular in the U.S. If Kiesza was around in the 90's, all of her songs would have hit # 1. She has that voice that fits that era.

This is Pitbull's second year in a row appearing in my year-end countdown. Last year, it was "Feel This Moment" This year, it's "Timber featuring Kesha. This song reminds me of that 90's song "Cotton Eye Joe" It has that same combination of electronic and country/folk.

The Fray came back with new music this year. "Love Don't Die" is different from all the stuff that have done. It's not depressing. It's a feel good song.

This is Ariana Grande's second and final appearance in countdown. "Problem" was the song that made her an official pop star. This single is fun and shows that Ariana is continuously trying out new things, and working with new artists which features Iggy Azalea.







Bonus







The ninth bonus song for this update is "Don't" from Ed Sheeran. The reason why I like it is it has a great rhythm to it. I do not consider this a rap song, but it does have a dance beat to it.
