just can't stand that Earshot's song. :-/ and you shouldn't've put Evans Blue lower than Santogold and Leona. Bleeding Love and LES Artiste are great, but...
35. The Ting Tings - Shut Up and Let Me Go Once this song gets stuck in your head, good luck getting it out. Another break out artist in 2008, The Ting Tings put out a catchy as hell tune, with a chorus that is just so damn likeable.
34. Gnarls Barkley - Who's Gonna Save Your Soul? Ryan has said it many, many times, but Gnarls Barkley do not get the attention they truly deserve. The duo put out an amazing record this year and this song truly stands out on the record. Also, the video is truly one of the best in 08.
33. 10 Years - So Long, Good-Bye Another band who I believe don't get enough recognition is 10 Years. They continuously put out good music left and right. "So Long, Good-Bye" can truly be a hit song if people would give it a chance. I prefer the album version over the rock version, but both are amazing.
32. Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife I have always liked A7X for the music they release. "Afterlife" is a prime example why I like these guys. It's nothing flashy or spectacular, just straight up rock that will keep any fan happy.
31. Portishead - Machine Gun The first thing you will recognize when you listen to this song is the beat. It is unlike anything I have heard before. I think Portishead can be best described as trippy music, which makes it that much more awesome.
We dive into the top 30 tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who has been commenting on the list.
And the funny thing about Gnarls is that it was Ben who discovered them and hyped them up when "Crazy" first leaked. Now, it seems like quite a few people associate me with Gnarls.
This set of five is the most fiery fire out there, hoss!
30. Tiger Army - Pain Tiger Army make their only appearance on the countdown at #30 with the great song "Pain." Not many people even know who Tiger Army is which is pretty sad.
29. The Roots feat. Patrick Stump - Birthday Girl The Roots put out amazing music all the time and "Birthday Girl" is proof why. With help from Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump, this song has that certain sweetness to it that is hard to hate.
28. Weezer - Pork and Beans Weezer returned in 2008 with a sub-par album, but "Pork and Beans" was a great 1st single with a video that everyone was talking about. Featuring many Youtube favorites, the video was a favorite among everyone including your truly.
27. Apocalyptica feat. Adam Grontier - I Don't Care Apocalyptica make their 1st of 2 appearances on the countdown. "I Don't Care took some time to get used to, but I finally got into it. I do prefer the album version over the video one, but anyone is okay with me.
26. The Veronicas - Untouched "Untouched" is really starting to take off everywhere, but over the summer, I was playing this song non-stop. I am glad this one is finally doing good here in the states as the song deserves all its success.
