It started the "epic" music video, not the "modern" music video. Other than that, everything is spot on
1. This point is the exact opposite of what you want to say. "Bad Romance" being compared to "Thriller" for its innovation is a sign that it's closer in stature than "Single Ladies," not a sign that it copied it.
2. The "Mexican Breakfast" performance went viral and that's how Beyonce found out about it. SHE SAYS IT IN THE INTERVIEW. Beyonce did not find some unknown performance and re-work it for a video. "Mexican Breakfast" went viral after "Walk It Out," a viral Internet dance sensation, was dubbed over it. Beyonce even commented on and said that's how she found the performance. How would "Single Ladies" have made this famous?
3. I stanned Beyonce for a decade. Being realistic is not the same thing as being a hater. Beyonce changed her role completely after my fave showed up, or do I need to remind you of her shift from "No, No, No" to "Survivor?" Beyonce has only really impacted HyoRin (lead singer of SISTAR), Lee HyoRi's "U Go Girl," Miss A's "Indepent Women Part III" and Ailee in South Korea. That's nothing compared to her peers from the early 2000s.
This is hysterical
"Bad Romance" was considerably bigger than "Single Ladies" WW. How many "online twinks" do you think there are that they could make a song a bigger hit than the GP that supposedly loves "Single Ladies?" Also, wtf is with this self-hate for gay people and why would their sales count less just because of their sexuality?
"Gangnam Style" will end up getting similar views just this year to the entire VEVO count for "Single Ladies." How is that a flash-in-the-pan when it's still running circles around "Single Ladies?"

GS in Pop culture is NO WHERE NEAR what Single Ladies created in 2009.
The Delusion is you thinking that just because people BOUGHT a song = it had cultural impact.

The people in this thread who are clinging to BR, GS etc continue to bring up how much one has sold, how many views one has etc etc, FORGETTING that
1) Youtube in 2009 =/= Youtube in 2014.
2) Single Ladies Views from 2008 - 2010 are NOT accounted for in its 2014 number (Other wise it would be FAR AHEAD of EVERYONE, seeing how in just TWO YEARS, it was the most viewed female video of ALL TIME.
3) Gaga, and Psy released their videos when Youtube rebranded, Vevo was introduced and the new age of Youtube was beginnning, so they actually profited whereas Beyonce's view count suffered and she had to start over
#FACTSONLY
Yall can cling to the views NOW, but like i said in my previous post, cultural IMPACT, knows no bound, which is why in 2014, it STILL is being referenced. GS's Pop Cultural IMPACT is what's a flash in the pan, seeing how 2 years later its NO WHERE in pop cultural and BR, when was the last time it was referenced?
Yall can cling to youtube views, charts, and sales, but CULTURAL IMPACT is what this thread is about (some cant comprehend or read) and

1) I agree
2) They are. Most of itīs pre-VEVO views have been added to the current viewcount. It was the most viewed female song counting all re-uploads and parodies. Gangnam Style became the most viewed song of all time with the main version alone in half a year and we have yet to see anyone come close.
3) As i said, Bey views have been added to the viewcount, so it didnt affect her nearly as much. Bad Romance also debuted pre-VEVO and had its views added to the actual viewcount as well

SL was (and currently is still being reference ALL THROUGHOUT pop culture)
I mean look at how many shows, movies, videos, songs, etc referenced Single Ladies vs the ones that reference BR.
Look at the duplicates of SL videos vs BR.
I mean its not even a competition.
And death at ppl clinging to Gagnam Style. Lmao. GS was popular for a year and DIED OFF. Psy is back to irrelevance whereas once again, SL 6 years later is STILL a force within Pop Culture.
Being a flash in the pan hit <<<<< staying culturally relevant half a decade later.
I wish i was still on The Beyhive.com there is a whole THREAD dedicated to the Pop Culture references Beyonce is in and a big majority of them are from Single Ladies.

Pathetic, but its true?
Bad Romance's Pop Culture Impact is no where near what Single Ladies is.
You'll EASILY find SL references in Television, Cinema, Fashion, Music, Interviews, etc....
I'll wait for Bad Romance's references.
THATS what Impact is. THAT is what Iconic is.
Selling the most does NOT = Having the most Impact.
Which is why LEGENDS who haven't seen AMAZING success like the likes of MJ, The Beetles, Mariah, Whitney etc are STILL considered to be in the same lane as those people because despite not having the SALES, they still have the LEGACY.
Merriam Webster
im - pact
: a powerful or major influence or effect
Oxford English Dictionary
im-pact
The effect or influence of one person, thing, or action, on another:
Dictionary.com
im-pact
influence; effect:
No where are Sales, Affluence, or Success mentioned. In order to be impactful all one has to do is invoke major influence and effect.
Bad Romance did not do half of the influencing and effecting that Single Ladies did, so by DEFINITION it is not more Impactful

How did that IMPACT the world though?
You're confusing SUCCESS with IMPACT

Yet i'm being the definition of delusional
Its VMAs have NOTHING to do with its IMPACT.
IMPACT is being referenced in Sitcoms, Dramas, Comedies and more on just about every major network and cable program.
IMPACT is being referenced in movies across the spectrum from 2009 - 2014
IMPACT is being referenced on clothing and in songs.
IMPACT is influence and EFFECT. Not awards and accolades.

Britney has ZERO videos more iconic than Single Ladies. Poor that.
And I think Bad Romance is a legit better video than Single Ladies, but Single Ladies is more referenced. Single Ladies has the edge since it's easier to replicate than the BR video. I'm just happy Bey and Gaga served us the most iconic videos of our generation, even in a collab (Telephone). Poor everyone else.
