It's really, R E A L L Y ironic how Tim Cook disses Android and calls it "ancient history" and then goes to show things Android has been doing for like at LEAST 2 years now.
Polishing something is NOT innovative. INVENTING it and using it FIRST IS INNOVATIVE. I'll admit, though, I was very happy to see they now allow different keyboards.

I can't believe how Apple get away with this innovation crap every year and I only saw it after switching.

Nothing new, except that "Continuity" features. Almost all new feathers they showed today is already on Windows 8.1.

Girl bye. Doing something RIGHT is innovating. Being first means nothing if it's half assed. That Motorola phone that had a fingerprint reader like 3 years ago worked horribly. Touch ID did it right and it was obvious since all the other manufacturers quickly followed.

I'm definitely not on about about Touch ID. Kudos to them. Not that I care much anyway.
What else was half a$$ed when Android introduced it? The notification center? The banners? The 3rd party keyboards? The flat lockscreen? The cards multitasker? The toggles? The wireless sync? The whole cloud thing? WIDGETS? OTA updates? Social nets integration? You see where I'm getting at? And these all have been well implemented since Gingerbread. And let me NOT talk about WebOS, that died SO underrated.

I'm not against them adopting stuff other platforms have had for ages. I'm all in. If there wasn't for that there wouldn't be any competition and Apple would have declined awfully by now, too. What gets me is how they ARE so behind the competition and STILL act like they're the hot thing. And I'm not talking about celebrity hot and I'm not against Apple either. I've been on iOS since 2009 and just THIS year did I switch to Android.

Calling Android ancient history? I'm not picking sides but PLEASE.

I agree Android isn't ancient history, but they never introduce ground breaking features. Just new ones.

Widgets were actually first used by Apple in 2005.

Apple is taking babysteps, it can clearly drop a huge bombshell but they decide not to.

Dang. What a disappointment. I was expecting more since they'll unveil a new sized Phone 3 months from now. Apple just can't keep up anymore with Windows and Android. They've been stagnant since iOS5. The only improvement on iOS7 was the UI, nothing else. Poor Apple.

And they also have had also already had this feature, but it was deep in the coding. It was never included because it took up to much room. But through tweaking the code you could enable it.

This is ignorant. "Apple can't keep up," when there is actually nothing to stop them from doing so. Apple have always been selective to what they add and when.

If the consumer has a problem they can leave. But most of these features Apple have added to iOS 8 seem better executed than the ones on Android.
For example, Swift Key predicts what word you're going to write based on the sentence you're writing.
Predictive text on Android only helps you finish the word you're typing (unless KitKat added that feature, it wasn't available on my Note 2).
