- Single Ladies had more dance covers. Toxic has been sampled more, has influenced more songs and has been covered more. Toxic has a considerably bigger cultural impact.

- Recurrent airplay is based on the fall of a current single from radio prominence. For example, when P!nk's "Just Give Me a Reason" began to fall on radio, "Who Knew" gained a considerable amount of airplay. Now that Eminem's "The Monster" is falling on radio, "The Real Slim Shady" is getting great recurrent airplay. Recurrent airplay is dependent on CURRENT success. ATRL has no concept of this

Yes, I must've missed "all of these interviews." I know Gaga has talked about how she's inspired by Britney, but I don't recall her saying the Poker Face outfit was a direct homage to Britney. I will have to find this interview.

Either way, I'm done talking about why I did/didn't know about the Toxic video. I don't have to explain to y'all why I never saw a music video. A SL vs. Toxic thread turned into a Q&A on my history of stanning. I did not pay attention to pop music before Gaga. Period. Getting back to the true purpose of this thread, I still believe Single Ladies is more iconic than Toxic. And we can just agree to disagree on that.

Dear lord. Out of all the things that ATRL, Toxic has to take the cake. I have no idea why Britney put it on such a high pedestal. It's not like it was some monster smash or anything. It was just a regular hit back in 2004 with decent with replay value. It was never the sensation that Single Ladies was/is.
