Was anyone expecting Mariah to "beat" her? Mariah has never been all that huge in the UK, doesn't she only have 2 #1 singles over there?

^^ Well we was because Leona's album came out like 20+ weeks ago and already had 7 weeks at #1 and in the midweeks Leona was like #3-5ish and the closest in the midweeks she got was like #3 with 12k when Mariah was #2 with 22k, so Leona amazedd as usual and got a good boost with her sales over the weekend.
& Yeah Mariah has two #1s in the UK, same as Leona

Hah! Mariah might have personality; but it's not a very nice one  . She has no respect for her fans, and is just totally self obsessed beyond belief.

GOOD, I don't want Leona to 'be Mariah', it is the last thing I want, I want Leona to be Leona, I want her to do her own thing, don't change her personality and keep doing what she does best.
& the album is 23 weeks old, which is more like 6 months than 4.

I really don't think she said it to be offensive, it just kind of came out that way. Because, as much as I love both Leona and Mariah, there is a clear line between the two.

Also, "Leona will never be me" is not in the part of the article you quoted. Neither is ANYthing that sounds like Mariah's putting down Leona. If you think there is, please learn to read.

Mariah shouldnt have compared herself to Leona, come on, she is really damn big compared to Leona who is just starting her carreer. Leona to be the next her? Maybe, look at Leona's string of success, but we are far from saying that, though I really want Leona to be as successful or even to be more successful than her. Right now, I'm much interested with Leona than Mariah's new music. But to stop the comaparison and somehow please Mariah's big ego, maybe we should just stop calling Leona the next Mariah, but instead lets call Leona the next big thing in the Music Industry, a legend in the making. Anyways Leona is a star in her own right and she's not really a copycat of Mariah.

Mariah. Mariah is one of the most unoriginal artists out. People say the young pop stars are the "next" Janet or Madonna but when its Mariah it always seems to be the "new." Mariah is just a singer, shes not an artist. Thats why it is so easy to replicate her style, or lack thereof.
