Exactly. It's sad to see some Katy stans (not all of them) pressed because of Happy success arguing about Pharrell's sales. Didn't they also suffer for the same reasons when Prism first week numbers came out?

Thicke's 2006 album has sold over 1.5 mil in the US.
Pharrell's 2006 album has supposedly sold less than 900k in the world. That's like Mail on Sunday level.

Mail on Sunday started with 86k with a super-smash. Pharrell is expected to be right around there with a super-smash.
I'm shocked by Pharell's numbers. I know that a hit doesn't equal sales, but I thought a SMASH hit and great promo could lead to 100k opening sales at least. I was wrong. I had overestimated Leah as well.
Ashanti is doing well for an independent artist with hardly any promo and absolutely no airplay.
But I gotta say, I'm kind of underwhelmed by Lea's first week numbers. I never expected the album to be a hit, or to even contain hits, but I thought it would do 100k first week before plummeting hard.
Do people forget that Pharrell is a PRODUCER? His career is based around his production as part of The Neptunes? He didn't come into the game wanting to be a pop star. The fact that he had success as a producer, clothing designer, furniture designer, glasses designer, network owner, label owner, and as an artist >
So many of you guys want to see him fail and that sucks that he accomplished more than your favorite artists.
I was expecting atleast 20 more maxxxx but what can you do without proper promo and not a single hit after 2 years of struggling to get this project out.
