So if you don't owe your life to this song it is only because you haven't come to fully appreciate it yet or you are shallow and didn't pay attention to it because it flopped. For real though, American music taste sucks ass. This peaked at #110? For ****ing shame. If you can't find the emotion and passion in this song, then I'm sorry, but you don't have a heart. Not to mention that it is her best vocal ever and completely blew everything out of the water lyrically, vocally, and emotionally this year. Now, I bet some of you are confused because this never made my countdown. You see, at the time of its release, "Never Again" was finishing up its run on my countdown and I wanted to wait for it to retire before I put "Sober" on. Well then I became shallow myself and wanted to wait for more exposure and a video because it felt like "Sober" had just died (and it did). At the point when I realized "Sober" was stalling indefinitely, I decided it was almost too late and didn't want to give it an unfair run. It wouldn't be true to the greatness that is this song. Besides, it is in a whole another league compared to everything else; it didn't deserve to make a countdown where overrated trash such as "Beautiful Liar" had once went to #1.
Anyway, don't be fooled. This song is truly the best single released this year and one of the best of the decade. FACT.
Bow down.
Thank you to all who commented on this thread. See you next year!
