The deal here is that season 1 was based on the Original Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, that's the reason Duel Monsters had different rules and everything. Then in season 2 they ditched that game and started using the Konami version of the game.

I need help with playing and learning all the new stuff. I know like 30% of the cards so I'm gonna need to practise playing with someone to learn the new stuff.
